L. Pauline Stone

L. Pauline Stone of Atlanta, 89, died on May 25, 2010. The daughter of the late Otto and Grace Soelzer, Mrs. Stone was born in Moline, Ill. and married F. Leonard Stone on Apr. 2, 1940.

Her husband's constant companion in life and business, they owned and operated Stone’s Clothing and Jewelry in Davenport, Iowa, and Moline and East Moline, Ill. They traveled extensively in the U.S. and Europe and participated in many Senior Olympics in Florida.

Mrs. Stone was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother and was always appreciative and kind to others. She is survived by daughters Miriam Long of Palm Beach, Fla. and Celia Gilner and her husband Donald Gilner of Sandy Springs; sister Shirley Pettit of Marietta; grandchildren Gregory Willey, Brian and Amy Gilner, and Michael and Lisa Gilner; and great-grandchildren Annabelle, David, and Emma. Graveside services were held May 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Arlington Cemetery with Rabbi Neil Sandler officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ahavath Achim Synagogue (600 Peachtree Battle Ave, Atlanta, GA 30327) or the William Breman Jewish Home (3150 Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta, GA 30327.)
